2/11/2012  Things keep moving along in Haiti. Today was the board meeting of the
Haitian board they have lots of plans and dreams. We participated in the meeting by
phone and email. We hope to sponsor a youth camp for the kids during Mardi Gras
as this is a time we don't want the church kids out in the streets.

Baby Genol is doing good here are some new pictures of him. Also pictured is a
mid-wife training day at the clinic and they are passing out some of the mid-wife kits.

1/13/2012  Today was ground breaking, sort of, for the new church. The first thing we
need to do is to put the driveway in so we can get materials to the building site.
There is a construction company working on the roads in Pignon. They used their
heavy equipment to start the driveway for us. As Dr Acene says "this gives great
hope to the church people".

1/12/2012  Today at about 4:30 ET will be the second anniversary of the earthquake.
We find it hard to believe that 2 years has already gone by. God has been good to
Haiti Mercy Mission and has meet all our needs through all of you. Haiti continues to
struggle and will for the foreseeable future and we do what we can to help the people
God puts in our path. We are proud of the Haitians and their fight to survive through
all that has come their way in the last two years. Continue to remember Haiti in
prayer and also Haiti Mercy Mission as we continue the work in Haiti. As the top of
this blog says we hope this is the year of building a new church in Pignon. We also
need help with our schools they are the biggest financial burden we have. We also
hope to finish our new kitchen and dinning hall. This is a very aggressive plan but we
will do as God supplies. Each year brings unforeseen challenges but we know God
is in control.

1/5/2012  Yesterday was the funeral for pastor Genol's wife. We talked to Him on the
phone to tell him how sorry we are, it was good to hear his voice. The big problem is
what to do with the kids at least short term. The older ones will stay with their dad for
now but the baby went home to the orphanage with Anne and Acene. The baby has
some health problems and needs care at our clinic. This is a picture Acene sent of
the baby sleeping with Anne this morning. I don't think Anne knows the picture was
taken so forgive me Anne.

1/04/2012  We were saddened today to learn that the wife of one of our Pastors,
Pastor Genol from Labissinthe passed away. She had a baby about 3 months ago
and developed a infection that took her life. Please pray for the family.

12/25/2011 The Haiti Mercy Mission staff both in the US and In Haiti would like to
wish all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

12/20/2011  We just returned from 2 weeks in Haiti. There were 5 of us and we had
a great time. The ladies from Minnesota and Montana were such a blessing to the
kids at the orphanage and the schools. Just a visit from people lifts their spirits. We
had a great Christmas party and put on VBS (Jonah and the Whale) for 170 kids.
There were stories, games and crafts for all the kids. Thank you Pat, Ruth and Janet!

We were also so glad to visit with Pastor Charles and Marie Ange. They are both
miracles thanks to your prayers. Pastor Charles big problem is he won't slow down
and we tried to encourage him to take it easy until he fully recovers. The Doctors
were able to save Marie Ange's eye and she has some sight in it. We were told at
first there was a 98 percent chance she would lose her eye so we thank God for his
goodness.

12/3/2011  I will be leaving tomorrow morning to go with a group to Haiti. There will
be 5 of us from 4 different churches. We will be having the annual Christmas party
with the kids both at the orphanage and also this year at our church in Bohoc. This is
all thanks to many people from many states who have donated the presents. This is a
time of great joy I will post pictures when we get home later in December.

Marie Ange will be going back to Port Au Prince on Monday for a check-up on her
eye.

11/30/2011  Marie Ange has had her surgery. The first hospital could not do the
operation but Anne and Acene finally found one that could. The Doctor was able to
save her eye and hopes she will have some sight. We will have to wait until the
swelling goes down. I will be in Haiti on Monday with a team of people so we can
check on her progress. Thank you for your prayers.

11/27/2011  I feel somewhat like a broken record as we have had a rough few
months with hospital bills. We have gone several years without any major problems
but we started with Shela D breaking her leg then Pastor Charles having brain
surgery now we have had another accident. Marie Ange got a knife poked in her eye
while working in the kitchen. Dr Acene and Anne had to take her to Port Au Prince
she is in a hospital there for surgery. The cost will be over $3000.00 We could use
help with these costs so please keep this in prayer. The Doctor says if she has the
surgery they may be able to restore some sight. We are using funds that were
designated for other projects but don't know what else to do.

11/18/2011  As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday we want to give thanks for all
the blessings God has provided. We are always amazed as we spend time worrying
about how needs will be met and what we should do or not do God always provides
or shows the way. It is through all of you that things get done and the needs are met
so we thank God and all of you for your prayers and financial support, for all the
donated time and donated items to supply the work in Haiti.

We are also thankful that Pastor Charles is home and doing well thanks for your
prayers.

10/28/2011  The update from Dr. Acene and Anne is that Pastor Charles is resting
after the surgery and doing OK. Please continue to pray for him and his wife.

10/27/2011  When Erik and I were in Haiti, Pastor Charles, the father of our
orphanage director Anne started to have problems from the accident he had last fall
see the post from 10/20/2010 below. He had bleeding in his brain. We took him to
Port Au Prince to see a doctor. Today they are doing surgery to relieve the pressure.
Dr Acene is helping with the Surgery please pray for them for a good outcome.

10/20/2011  There will be a benefit concert on Sunday Oct 30th at the Detroit Lakes
MN Assemblies OF God church. The concert will be by "Mercy 5" pictured below.
There will be a free will offering taken. This group has been such a blessing to Haiti
Mercy Mission all the proceeds from their concerts go to support the work in Haiti.
The music is always great and lots of good fellowship before and after the concert.
We hope to meet you there.

Anyone wanting to schedule a concert can contact Mercy 5 see the picture for the
Information.

10/17/2011  My son Erik and I have just returned from a trip to Haiti. We had a good
and productive trip but are also glad to be home. In the last month we have traveled
by truck and plane over 7,000 miles. We were able to bring 3,500 pounds of
supplies to Haiti with us which will be a blessing to those we minister to, so a big
thank you to all of you who donated these supplies for the children the schools and
the clinic.

An update on Shela D who broke her leg she did finally have the surgery although
she had to be taken to 2 different hospitals before a doctor could be found that could
do the operation. I saw the x-rays after the plate and screws were put in her leg. Just
looking at them made me weak knowing she was driven around trying to find a
hospital and knowing what Haitian roads are like, surly God was with her and Anne
through it all. She is back home now but still has a long recovery ahead.

9/08/2011  Please add Shela D to your prayer list as she broke her leg. This
happened a few days ago but only today is she having surgery. Anne took her to a
hospital in Haiti run by Dr. Paul Farmer but they could not do the operation there so
yesterday they moved her to another place near St. Marc. This has been a long
process for both Shela and Anne as in Haiti when in a hospital you need someone to
stay with you to take care of your physical needs such as bathing, changing bedding
and feeding you. We hope and pray for a good outcome for Shela pictured below.

8/25/2011 We are currently getting ready for a trip to Haiti I will be going with our son
Erik. We will be gone most of September and October. We will be driving a load of
supplies to Florida and then flying to Haiti with Missionary Flights International pray
with us for a safe and productive trip.

7/18/2011  Cholera is again at our clinic. There is another orphanage not too far
from our clinic that has 28 children they all came down with cholera so they were all
admitted to the clinic. Some have since been released the rest should be soon. We
are thankful for all of you that support this mission that enables us to care for those in
need in Haiti. We are also thankful for our Haitian staff that works so hard when the
need is there.

6/25/2011  It is the end of the school year in Haiti and that means class graduations
and special programs as the kids are promoted to the next grade. It is also the time
of the year we find out how far behind we are on keeping up on the cost of running
the schools. Please pray with us that the money needed to educate these kids will be
available to us so we can end the year in the black. Below are some graduation
pictures from one of our schools.

6/7/2011  We always like to talk about the good times and show pictures of success
when we talk and write about the mission but sometimes we go through hard times
and times of sadness. This last week was one of those times. One of our employees
and a dear friend passed away unexpectedly last week. Those of you who have
visited HMM in Haiti would have met Elistene "Papite". He worked at the orphanage
was a deacon in our church, played lead guitar and sang in a mens singing group.
He spoke some English and taught me lots of the creole that I know. He was loved
dearly by the kids as he was a father figure to them. He left a wife and kids who will
miss him. Below is a picture I took in April of him and also a picture of the funeral.
The casket is one made in our wood shop. We will miss Papite but know he has
gone to a great reward in heaven and is playing lead guitar with the saints in glory.

5/26/2011  As summer hopefully draws near! We are busy already planing for next
year. The kids in Haiti are getting close to being done with another year of school but
we are starting to collect supplies for next year. We have a good supply of things on
hand but lack the funds to ship everything to Haiti. People often ask how they can
help and this is one area we could use some help in if you would like to donate
money for shipping costs let us know.

5/17/2011 We spent the weekend in Detroit Lakes MN, Where we had a concert put
on by the
Mercy 5 singing group. They have done many concerts and donated lots of
time. We thank them so much for all they have done. We also thank the Lake Eunice
Free Church for hosting this concert. If your church would be interested in Hosting a
concert by this group Give us a call or send us an email. 218-963-9412 or
Frank@HaitiMercyMission.com.

On the right side of the screen is a new addition. A CD by my brother Dick a
collection of 10 songs. He would like to donate all money raised with this CD to the
work in Labissinthe, Haiti. You can us the paypal Donate button and designate for
the CD or send a check to
"PO Box 164, Nisswa, MN 56468" and designate for
the CD and we will Mail one out to you.

5/7/2011  As we look to the future we are always trying to find ways to help create
jobs and build business that will be self sustaining. My son Erik and I are planning a
trip back to Haiti this summer to start to build some chicken houses where we will
raise chickens to be sold at market. We hope to employ some of the people in our
churches with this project and create some income to fund other projects in Haiti. We
are also going to be drilling a new well at our clinic as running a clinic without a good
supply of water is hard. As of this week we have started to see cholera patient's
again at the clinic.

4/24/2011 People often ask what will become of the kids when they leave the
orphanage? We are always trying to teach skills they can use when they leave. We
also keep in contact with those that leave and keep them in our prayers. Those that
remember Adlene she is married and has a little girl named "Jeanette Barbara" she
is starting a business where she buys clothes in Port Au Prince wholesale and
resells them in Pignon, Lovlie is living on her own and working as a seamstress
making school uniforms it is always great to see them in church and doing well.

4/21/2011  One of the new projects this year is a new Dining hall and kitchen. We
have out grown the old one and when we cook with charcoal it makes lots of smoke
in the boys dorm so we are moving the kitchen. The following pictures is what we did
this year. We still need funds to finish. We plan on a tin roof to save on costs. The old
dinning room will become more bedroom space and the old kitchen will become a
laundry area

4/8/2011  We are on our way home. We had very little Internet access while in Haiti
this year so I apologize for the lack of communication. The time spent in Haiti was
filled with lots of activity and we had many people come to visit and help while we
were there. We thank you all for your prayers and support. I will try to post some of
the things we did this year over the next few months. We hope to be home by the
15th of April. As we were leaving today we met the new president elect of Haiti. We
hope and pray that he can led Haiti to a recovery from the many problems here.

3/18/2011 This is the first time to have Internet access since we got to Haiti. We are
doing well and are excited with all the progress that was made since I was here last
June. The kids are doing good the Clinic is busy and the churches are growing. We
have a group of 18 coming to see us next week from Oregon. We have started a
building project of a new Kitchen and Dining hall as we have out grown the old one
and need the room.

2/15/2011  We are in Florida tonight and will be flying out with MFI Thursday morning
and should be in Pignon by early afternoon. We are excited to see everyone. We
have been busy buying supplies and getting everything ready. Dr Acene called and
said we have two more kids as of today so we will try to update you about them when
we meet them. The Pastors have been busy and have started another church that we
will visit as soon as we can. Hope to keep this page updated when I can find Internet
access.

1/28/2011  Jeanette and I will be leaving Feb 10th to go back to Haiti we will be
there through mid April. We ask for your prayer for God's guidance and wisdom
while we are there and also God' protection. I am not sure how often I will be able to
update the web site as our Internet connection at the orphanage is not working. I will
try to get somewhere once in awhile to post something when I can. The office work
here in Nisswa will continue with lots of volunteer help. Lucy will be doing the banking
and sending out notes and we thank her for that. Please be patient with us as we
make the needed transitions. We will also have email from time to time and will do
our best to respond so please feel free to email when you can.

1/17/2011 Many of you have asked about Saisette and what is happening with her.
For those who don't know her she is one of our orphans that we have been sending
to college to become a registered nurse. She was going to school in Port-au-Prince
at the time of the earthquake and God spared her life as she was in a building that
collapsed. She was attending Notre Dame and the college has been closed since
the earthquake. Saisette has been working at our clinic since it opened putting her
education to use. As of last Monday she has returned to Port-au-Prince. The college
is trying to get those that were close to graduation through. She will be doing her
clinical rotations at the hospitals in Port. She is about 8 months away from getting
her degree. She is nervous about living in Port again so keep her in your prayers.

Today is also Lea Wortington's 94th Birthday. Lea is one of our board
members. Happy Birthday Lea!!!

1/10/2011  Some time ago we started to raise funds for another truck Dr. Acene
found a used truck which we along with your help were able to purchase. We are
thankful that it is now paid for. It is being used to go on remote medical trips and
doubles as a school bus to take our kids to school.

1/6/2011  The first post of the new year. New Years Day in Haiti is one of the biggest
celebrations of the year. Not only is it New Years Day but for Haiti it is also
Independence day. To celebrate you spend the day visiting friends and relatives. All
the kids at the orphanage that have a relative to visit get dressed up and go for a
family visit. It is a day that is looked forward to by all. Most people make soup and
bread and share with all that come to visit. We hope that all you had a wonderful
Christmas and New Year!

12/25/2010  Merry Christmas!! Let us celebrate the birth of Jesus today!!

Even though we were not there we wanted the kids to have the Christmas party so
Anne and Acene passed out the gifts you donated and called us so we could hear
some of the excitement. They wish to say thank you to all those that made this day
possible.

12/23/2010  While the clinic has taken lots of time this year our job number 1 is still
the care of the orphans in our care. The need is always there and even though we
sometimes think we can't take any more God seems to put us in a position where we
take more anyway. We will just trust Him to meet the need. Here are 3 beautiful new
girls we just took in. We don't have much info on them yet but will update more when
we get it. Here they are with their new school uniforms ready to start school.

12/21/2010  We received some pictures from Anne today of the Cholera patients at
the clinic. The third picture is of a minor surgery being done you can click on any of
the pictures to make it larger for a better view. The following message is from Anne.

Greeting in the Name of Jesus Christ. We ( Dr Acene & I, all orphan kids, Pastors
and all churches members) Wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy New year.  We
thanks God for His opportunities he gave us and put us together  to do His wonderful
work for His Glory. We in Haiti face a lot of bad things, like earthquake, hurricane
and cholera where many people pass a way on that thing. We Praise God for His
protection to us, if nothing happen on us it's grace of God. We praise God for that.
We want you all in the states continue to pray for us and for Haiti. We convey our love
to each person who support HMM in their prayer and money. One more time Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year 2011 to you all, May this year bring you health, joy,
peace, faith, prosperity and the whole we are doing together for His Glory.

I love you,  Anne

12/20/2010  From the entire staff of Haiti Mercy Mission both in the States and from
Haiti. We want to wish all of you a very
Merry Christmas. We could not do what we
do without all of you!!!
We may be the hands and feet on the ground but it is your
support that makes it all possible. May God richly bless you for your caring and
compassion.

12/12/2010  We just returned from Florida. Jeanette and I along with my brother Dick
and his wife Mary Lou hauled 3000 lbs of supplies for the orphanage and Cholera
medicine and other supplies for the clinic to Missionary Flights International. By the
time we arrived back home on Saturday MFI was landing in Pignon with the supplies.
We are thankful for MFI and the work they do to transport this life saving cargo. The
latest word from Anne is that the clinic is taking in more people than they can handle
but they are committed to do all they can with the supplies they have. We, even with
the latest shipment, are in short supply of supplies at the clinic. Last report had 50
people in rooms at the clinic with more coming everyday. The average stay is 3 days
while they are given re-hydration treatments. As of Friday we have only had 1 death
of a man who waited too long before coming for treatment. We don't often ask for
funds but we are in desperate need of money to resupply the clinic. We can buy
many of the supplies we need in Haiti if we have the money. Right now the major
airlines have stopped flights to Haiti and MFI is making a decision on a daily basis
as to whether they can go or not. If you are able to help we would be very thankful.
You can send a check to
Haiti Mercy Mission, PO Box 164,  Nisswa, MN 56468
or you can donate online by clicking on the Donate button at the right side of this
screen and designate for the clinic.

11/25/2010  Happy Thanksgiving!! We are thankful for all of you that support this
mission. God has been so good to us through you. Even with the year Haiti has had
our Haitian friends have been blessed with your kindness through your prayers and
support.

11/16/2010  Many of you have asked to be able to donate online so we have created
a PayPal account for Haiti Mercy Mission. You can click on the Donate button on the
right side of the screen and follow the instructions. We do not get any of your financial
information it is all handled by PayPal so it is safe and secure. You can chose to
donate to a "project" or if you want put "where needed most".

11/13/2010  We are very concerned about the cholera problem. We have reports
that there have been cases to the North of Pignon and to the South. It is just a matter
of time probably in the next few days that we will start to see patients at the clinic. We
are shipping supplies as fast as we can. We will also be leaving on the 29th of this
month with a trailer load. If you feel led we could use money for the shipping costs.

11/08/2010  Thankfully Tomas did not hit Haiti with a direct blow. Anne says they got
lots of rain in Pignon but everything is OK. We continue to watch the Cholera
problem and have already shipped supplies to the clinic in preparation for a
outbreak. The supplies if not used to treat cholera can be used for other tropical
diseases. We have been blessed with many wonderful donations of clinic supplies.
God continues to bless through many of you and we are so grateful. We have a large
load of supplies for the orphanage, Clinic and schools and will be driving them to
Florida the end of this month.

10/28/2010 The Cholera problem in Haiti is on the minds of us all. We need to keep
Haiti in our prayers as they struggle with yet another disaster. From all we have been
able to find out there have now been reports of cholera in Port-Au-Prince the latest
case is a lady that has not traveled anywhere in the country so did not get infected
somewhere else. This is frightening if true. We have been ordering and will ship
things the clinic will need if there is a outbreak in our area. We feel it is best to be
proactive in this case. Also we were in the process of trying to get Saisette back in
school in Port but now feel we would be better off waiting until we know more so she
will stay in Pignon and work at the clinic until we feel it is safe for her to return to
school.
